We provide in-House Paediatric First Aid courses at a time to suit you 
 
 To deliver an in-house course we need a suitable sized room 7m x 7m. Please phone us to discuss your requirements.
 
We follow the guidline as recomment by the Department for Education
you can view the guidance on the Departments website and further advice and guidance can be viewed on the OFSTED website.
 

 About the OFSTED 12 Hour Paediatric First Aid course

 

The OFSTED 12 Hour Paediatric First Aid (PFA) Course. The course is ideally suited for Early Years setting or those with a responsibility to care to children

 

 

COURSE CONTENT

 

On completion of training, successful candidates should be able to:

 

  1. understand the role of the first aider including reference to the use of available equipment and the need for recording incidents and actions

  2. understand the importance of basic hygiene in first-aid procedures

  3. assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency

  4. administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure;
    administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (adult and Paediatric)

  5. administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and/or in shock

  6. administer first aid to a casualty who is choking

  7. provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries.

  8. To a child who is poisoned

  9. Dealing with childhood illnesses

  10. Burns

  11.  Poisons

  12. Eye Injuries

  13. Injuries to Bones Joints and Soft Tissue                                     

  14. Head Injury                                         

  15. Spinal Injury Management

  16. Medical Conditions                              

  17. Assessment of Learning (continual tutor based assessment)            

 

 

DURATION

 

The PFA course is 12 hours contact which can be run over two days or 4 evening sessions. There is no final practical assessment.
